Zach Riddley, a Portfolio Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, took to Instagram to reveal the new EPCOT prism pylons that are in the entrance fountain. Riddley wrote about this small step in part to EPCOT’s greater reimagining.
I’m excited to share a first look at the pylons we installed last night as we continue to reimagine the EPCOT main entrance fountain, which has anchored this area since the park opened in 1982. Our design team took special interest in looking back to the original geometry for inspiration and infusing new features with a little bit of added magic to bridge the past, present and future of EPCOT . These majestic pylons also draw your eye upward toward the sky and perfectly frame views of the iconic Spaceship Earth attraction. I can’t wait to reveal the completed look for this fountain later this year!

Riddley revealed that the completed fountain will be revealed later this year. This is still exciting for EPCOT’s reimagining and I can’t wait to see this fountain and entrance in real life. This fountain with the classic EPCOT pylons with Spaceship Earth in the background may become the next photographic hotspot at Walt Disney World.
Scott Gustin checked in on the fountain today, and he got some shots during the daytime at EPCOT. Here are some photos from Scott:

The prism pylons look fantastic. I can’t wait to see them up close in EPCOT once the rest of the fountain is completed.
