WandaVision was originally going to be six episodes long. That’s what originally was reported from every major outlet, and there was quite a bit of evidence to back that up considering that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be six episodes, and has already been described as a “six-hour movie.”
Marvel Studios insider Lizzie Hill found a new discovery regarding WandaVision. A resumé of a stunt person revealed that there is an episode nine of WandaVision. This is three more episodes than we previously thought. So, now the show will be a nine-episode limited series instead of six. Meaning, Disney+ will have three more weeks of WandaVision than we all expected.
The show is returning to production soon, and it’s looking like WandaVision will most likely be released on its original release date of December 2020. The other interesting tidbit is that the WandaVision episode was labeled, Ep.109, even though it is supposed to be a limited series. So far there has been no evidence that points to WandaVision getting a season two probably due to it tying in with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Other Marvel Disney+ shows like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki are heavily rumored to be getting a second season.
Having nine episodes is quite exciting. Especially considering Disney+’s biggest series to date The Mandalorian only had eight episodes. My current thinking is that WandaVision’s earlier episodes will be significantly shorter than the later episodes. My current guess is that the show will start off in sitcom form before transitioning to MCU spectacular.
WandaVision is expected to premiere in December 2020. The series features Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their characters Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch and Vision. Rounding out the series is Teyonah Paris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, and Kathyrn Hahn in the role of the “nosy neighbor.”
