Walt Disney World Resort Will Present Its Reopening Plans to Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force Tomorrow

After closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Walt Disney World Resort will present its plans to reopen to the Orange County Economic Task Force.

Walt Disney World and SeaWorld will present their respective reopening plans to the Orange County task force tomorrow morning. This means we are closer to a reopening of Walt Disney World and SeaWorld. Universal Orlando Resort already presented its reopening plans. Their theme parks will return to guests on June 5.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings previewed Disney and SeaWorld’s plans ahead of Wednesday’s presentation. The plans included an abundance of safety measures for guests and employees to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. If Mayor Demings endorses their plans he will write a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis for final approval to reopen.

Demings’ task force previously approved plans for smaller theme parks like Fun Spot America and Gatorland to reopen. The task force also approved Universal Orlando’s plans to reopen to the public on June 5.

Disney Springs has already started their phased reopening with third party establishments. More Disney-owned stores and restaurants will reopen at Disney Springs tomorrow.

Tomorrow, SeaWorld will present first to the task force. Followed by Walt Disney World. You’ll be able to watch the presentations on Orange TV.

The presentation tomorrow should reveal Disney’s timetable on reopening the parks. So, I would expect new details to appear tomorrow. It seems like things will be getting back to normal for Walt Disney World soon as the NBA is also expected to use the resort as a “bubble site” to finish their season.
