Disney is leading the pack at the Oscars this year with 22 nominations.
Disney had two films nominated for Best Picture (The Banshees of Inisherin and Avatar: The Way of Water). Quite honestly, Disney couuld’ve had three films in the Best Picture race if only Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was nominated.
The Banshees of Inisherin received a total of nine nominations.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever picked up a total of five nominations. A solid outing at the Oscars for a Marvel Studios film. It easily could’ve been six nominations if Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would’ve cracked the top ten for the Best Picture race.
Avatar: The Way of Water had a total of four nominations. Although its director James Cameron missed out on being nominated for Best Director.
Pixar’s Turning Red was the lone animated film from Disney to get nominated. The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.
The 95th annual Academy Awards will air on ABC on March 12.
