2020 was not a normal year for moviegoing and this year’s Oscars will be different. Despite it being a totally weird year, The Walt Disney Company earned 15 nominations for the Oscars.
Let’s check out all the nominations that The Walt Disney Company received:
Nomadland
Soul
Mulan
Onward
The One and Only Ivan
Burrow
The United States vs. Billie Holiday
Disney+ certainly did well when it came to getting Oscar nominations as Soul, Burrow, The One and Only Ivan, and Mulan hail from the service.
Searchlight Pictures continues its Oscars dominance with Nomadland. The studio has won 40 awards since 1994.
The other important thing to note is that Chloe Zhao, who earned a ton of nominations for Nomadland also directed Marvel Studios Eternals which will premiere in theaters this November.
The Oscars ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 25, and will be televised live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
