In surprising news coming out of the Disney Experiences presentation, Avengers: Infinity Defense won’t be the only new attraction coming to Avengers Campus. Disney would go on to announce Stark Flight Lab, the fourth attraction coming to Avengers Campus.
The attraction will be about Tony Stark inviting guests to experience his flight lab. The attraction will have guests sit in two-person pods and deploy to a test station. Then a robot arm grabs your pod and starts whirling you around in a simulated flight.
Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark for Stark Flight Lab and Avengers: Infinity Defense.
Disney also teased the possibility of hearing other Marvel characters during your experience at Stark Flight Lab.
To me, Stark Flight Lab was the perfect parks’ surprise during D23. It gives Avengers Campus another attraction, and it seems like they are making the most of the relatively small footprint by giving this attraction some extra flair with RDJ and others. To me, I wouldn’t even be upset if it turned out to be real flight simulators like Sum of All Thrills from EPCOT. This could be an additional way to experience even more of the Marvel universe within Avengers Campus. This was an extremely smart decision by Walt Disney Imagineering to do this. I don’t think anyone expected a fourth attraction for Avengers Campus but they pulled it off.
Construction on Stark Flight Lab will begin next year.
