We’ve heard rumblings about this real-life lightsaber before. Now we finally see it in action with this Rey lookalike. The lightsaber was developed by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development.

Starting in 2022 guests will finally have the opportunity to stay overnight within the galaxy of Star Wars. Disney is promising that the activation of the real-life lightsaber is just the start and that onboard the Galactic Starcruiser guests will witness even more realistic Star Wars moments than ever before.

The two-night adventure will allow guests to live out their own Star Wars story. Guests’ decisions and or actions (even a small conversation) can determine how your adventure unfolds.

How do you get to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? You’ll arrive at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser terminal at Walt Disney World, where you’ll gather with fellow passengers before departing on your real-life Star Wars adventure. You’ll enter a launchpad and soon before you know it you’ll be onboard the Halycon (Galactic Starcruiser).

The Halycon model is currently on display at Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests onboard the ship will get magnificent views of the Star Wars galaxy for two nights.

During your stay, you’ll interact with characters both familiar and unfamiliar. You’ll also dine in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room.

The restaurant is in honor of the same shipyard planet where the Millennium Falcon and the Halycon are from. The dining room will offer breakfast and lunch and will feature an otherworldly and familiar menu.

During your stay on the Galactic Starcruiser, you will have the opportunity to wield a lightsaber. Plus you’ll learn more about the ship you’re staying on and you will even have an excursion to the planet of Batuu so you can visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The Disney Parks Blog calls the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser not storytelling but storyliving. As guests will live out their own real-life Star Wars adventures. Do you want Walt Disney Imagineering to develop more storyliving experiences? Tweet at us @BoardwalkTimes!
