The Void, an entertainment company which specializes in hyper-reality experiences is once again partnering with ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment division to create a slate of five new Void hyper reality experiences from the worlds of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Marvel Studios.
The first experience announced was the long rumored Wreck-It Ralph experience titled Ralph Breaks VR. The next experience will be a Marvel experience in 2019. All signs point to Spider-Man: Far From Home being the source material. Marvel also has Captain Marvel and Avengers in 2019 so maybe the experience is based off one of those.
The Void’s relationship with Disney is through the Disney Accelerator program. Disney has already entrusted The Void with one of their most valuable franchises in Star Wars. The Void has already created memorable hyper-reality experiences in Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, a Halloween experience in Nicodemus: Demon of Evanishment, and Ghostbusters: Dimension Experience.
The new experience will be debuting this fall at both Disneyland Resort in Downtown Disney’s VOID location and Walt Disney World Resort at Disney Springs VOID location. More locations should be announced soon for Ralph Breaks VR. Then the undisclosed Marvel project should open sometime in 2019.
