Marvel Studios May Use Deathlok in the Near Future

Marvel Studios is considering using Deathlok in an undisclosed production.

Currently, it is just a rumor but it’s always fascinating to see where the MCU is planning on going.

Marvel has had several Deathloks over the years, the most popular one was created by Doug Moench and Rich Buckler in 1974. The origin story is Luther Manning was a Detroit native who was killed in a brutal battle and revived as a cyborg.

Deathlok did appear in season one of Agents of SHIELD. The actor who portrayed him, J. August Richards, is clamoring to reprise the role even if it is for a film.

Deathlok has been a project since the 90s long before the days of Marvel Studios. Randall Frakes (Terminator 2: Judgement Day) wrote a script for Deathlok but it never happened.

I would take this rumor with a grain of salt. Although, the MCU does have the power of taking lesser known characters and making them work.

I’m sure there will be more rumors and news throughout this month. Especially leading up to the start of Phase 4 with Spider-Man: Homecoming. For now, we are going to have to just wait and see.
