Disney’s Haunted Mansion has found its director in Dear White People creator Justin Simien.
This will be Disney’s second attempt at creating a Haunted Mansion film. The first was in 2003 and starred Eddie Murphy. The new Haunted Mansion film will have a script from Katie Dippold who wrote the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot.
This isn’t Simien’s only project at the Mouse House. Over at Lucasfilm, he will be in charge of creating the Lando series for Disney+. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce the film through their company Rideback.
The Haunted Mansion debuted at Disneyland in 1969. The popular attraction has always been thought about as a potential film or Disney+ series. Fans have been obsessed with the mythos surrounding the Haunted Mansion so it will be awesome to see the film make its way to the big screen.
