Fast & Furious Coaster Queue Uncovered | Universal Studios Hollywood

Ethan Becker takes a look at the upcoming Fast & Furious Coaster queue at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Recent permits have revealed some clues for the upcoming Fast and Furious roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood. We have full views of what the queue for this coaster will look like, and oh boy, it is quite compact and impressive.

The station building is labeled 4422 in the permit and the thick black lines snaking around the building are the interior and exterior queue area. The queue has numerous switchbacks inside and out to maximize the small overall space that it is in. The exterior queue goes behind Luigi’s Pizza and then comes back inside the station, and if the queue has windows then there will be some amazing views from the queue of the coaster going through its course on the hillside.

This queue setup will be very similar to what the Velocicoaster queue looks like over at Universal Orlando and will include double-sided lockers and metal detectors. This will be the first introduction of metal detectors on a ride at Universal Studios Hollywood as well as double-sided lockers, so it will be a bit of a learning curve for us West Coasters out here but it should work itself out within the first few weeks of operation. Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey is getting a new locker building to separate it from the rest of the queue and I am curious to see if that attraction will also be getting double-sided lockers instead of its current setup.

The new station complex will include new restrooms to replace the ones that were lost when Animal Actors was torn down. There will also be a new gift shop to replace Production Central which used to be in that location. As per usual, there will be different lines for general admission, express, and single rider. In a first for an attraction at Hollywood, single riders will have their own locker room which should make things easier for them. There will be a Child Switch room and multiple Team Member facilities on the first floor of the station. The upstairs will include a duel loading area for the coaster.

Those are all the details I was able to find on the permits, but more info will be coming out on this coaster this year as it will likely soft open around the holidays and officially open next year.
