The casting for Marvel Studios latest Disney+ series Secret Invasion is not stopping. Yesterday, it was reported that Olivia Colman was in talks to star in the series. Now today brings us the news that Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is in final talks to join the MCU in Secret Invasion.
Marvel Studios declined to comment on the matter. Emilia Clarke will be joining Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman for the series.
Secret Invasion was announced last year during Disney’s Investor Day. The series will follow Skrulls, a shapeshifting race that have infilitrated Earth for years now. Kingsley Ben-Adir will play the main villain. No details have been provided on who Emilia Clarke may play.
Emilia Clarke is a talented and young actress so this is hard to imagine as a one-off. Outside of Game of Thrones, Clarke’s credits include Me Before You, Last Christmas, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Kyle Bradstreet will write and executive produce the series. Secret Invasion will premiere on Disney+ in 2022. Filming is schedule to begin in Europe this fall.
