The all-new cinematic nighttime spectacular will pay homage to Disney’s 90-year animation history. Of course focusing on Mickey Mouse, the one who started it all. The projection-mapping show will happen on the building of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The former building of The Great Movie Ride.
The concept art shows quite a diverse line-up from Mickey in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, The Emperor’s New Groove, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, and Lilo & Stitch. The concept art also includes some modern day and Pixar favorites like Frozen, Incredibles 2, Finding Nemo, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Cars 3, Big Hero 6, Moana, Zootopia, and Coco.
This doesn’t necessarily mean all these franchises are in the show but it is wishful thinking. The new show will use the latest state-of-the-art technology. “Wonderful World of Animation” is set to begin on May 1 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
