Unique is truly an understatement for this park. Opened in 2001, the park focuses on many different themed locations, all based around water. It is a clever Disney park that utilizes a nautical theme.

Each area offers different experiences for guests. While water is great, it’s the attractions and theming that make this park so special.
This park is home to classic U.S. Disney favorites, but they come with a twist. The Tower of Terror from Hollywood Studios keeps its name but has a completely new storyline for Tokyo’s guests.

Another pair of incredible attractions are based off of the French novelist Jules Verne. The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction takes guests in small submarines to explore the ocean like Captain Nemo, and Journey to the Center of the Earth takes guests on a dangerous adventure into the depths of the earth.

They also have Sinbad’s Storybook Adventure, a Small World-type water/dark ride. It follows a boy, Sinbad, and his tiger, Chandu, on an epic adventure for wealth and treasure with a catchy tune by Alan Menken, “Compass of Your Heart.” You can watch a ride through and listen to the song below.
The rides are only as important as the theming though. One of the most spectacular areas in the park is actually meant for children, but people of all ages can’t resist that good Instagram opportunity. Tokyo DisneySea has a full fledge undersea world complete with King Triton’s Concert.

Also, THE ENTERTAINMENT IS AMAZING! They have parades on the water! Their Fantasmic is Fantastic, too.

If you think this is cool, just wait! Tokyo DisneySea is about to start some MAJOR expansions to the property including adding a new port with a Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan area.

I’ve never been to Tokyo DisneySea or Tokyo Disneyland Resort. Have you or would you go if you had the opportunity? Tweet us @ BoardwalkTimes on Twitter and let us know what you would do!
