On Friday, it was announced that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer. Since then there has been an outpouring of love and support in remembering Boseman. The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg is the latest to discuss Chadwick Boseman’s legacy but she also made a request that I think everyone could get behind.
In a tweet, Goldberg asked Disney to build Wakanda, the fictional African kingdom from Black Panther, in either Disneyland or Walt Disney World.

Obviously being realistic, Disney is still feeling the global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, I wouldn’t expect them to make a Wakanda any time soon. Also, add in the fact that Universal Orlando has the Marvel rights. That makes it difficult for Disney to do anything related to Marvel at Walt Disney World. Maybe something changes years from now but in the present, this idea looks unlikely due to money and overall space. I do think Whoopi Goldberg’s pitch is smart though. Black Panther is a beloved property and it would be a cool way to honor Chadwick Boseman.
Over at Disney’s California Adventure, Black Panther will be a part of the Avengers Campus. The character is expected to be in a stunt show and to do meet and greets in the land. The land will also have an Avengers Quinjet attraction which will arrive a couple of years after the land has been opened. Black Panther will be featured in that attraction as guests will be traveling to Wakanda to witness the Avengers in action.

The concept of Wakanda being an actual land or theme park within the Disney Parks portfolio would be incredible. We may still be a while away from it but regardless it is an epic idea.
