As Disney continues to introduce more of their properties into the parks. One begins to wonder how it will end up affecting Tomorrowland. It has already happened before with Disney using Buzz Lightyear, Stitch, and Monsters Inc. Let’s examine some of the possible franchises that could enter the Tomorrowland fold. Later on we will examine resurrecting a former Tomorrowland concept, and other ways on how the land may innovate in the near future.
Big Hero 6

Big Hero 6 is a science-fiction film that follows the story of Hiro Hamada, a robotics prodigy who forms a superhero team to fight off a masked villain. Science fiction has always been a huge influence on Tomorrowland. Robotics has also been a huge influence on Tomorrowland’s theming.
Baymax is also a very marketable character to use in Tomorrowland. The film did well but the franchise has been quiet when it comes to being in Disney Parks. The only exception being the attraction that is currently being built at Tokyo Disneyland.
The futuristic feel of Big Hero 6 gives Disney the possibility to incorporate it into Tomorrowland. This is more likely than the other options.
Wreck-It Ralph

Tomorrowland may receive a Wreck-It Ralph attraction if the sequel ends up performing well. The first Wreck-It Ralph focused on the world of arcade and video games. The second film will take us on an adventure through the internet. How does Tomorrowland fit in with arcade games and the internet? See this is going to sound like a stretch. The arcade games represent retro, and Tomorrowland represents the future that never was. The internet is always evolving similar to Tomorrowland. Both reasonings don’t make a lot of sense.
The Wreck-It Ralph rumor first started back in 2016. Insiders were confident that a Sugar Rush virtual reality attraction would replace Stitch’s Great Escape. There is still a possibility Stitch might meet his demise. Will his demise be Ralph?
Wreck-It Ralph doesn’t thematically fit in Tomorrowland. The same case could also be made for Monsters Inc.
TRON

Well we already know TRON will make its way to Tomorrowland in form of the Lightcycle Coaster. How heavy will this cult IP have influence on that attraction. I’m assuming very minimal unless the third installment with Jared Leto becomes a surprise, breakout hit. If the third TRON does indeed become a hit more of Tomorrowland could be affected by a TRON takeover.
Daft Punk Dance Parties?
Now onto the possibility of Tomorrowland resurrecting a more darker theme.
Tomorrowland 2055
The new Tomorrowland would take on a extraterrestrial theme. Imagineering originally wanted this land at Walt Disney World. The new theme would be a intergalactic space port. With daily flights to Mars and other planets. This would also mean all attractions would be themed around extraterrestrial life and aliens.
The land would’ve featured crazy rock formations and other eye-catching details. Could Disney ever resurrect the galactic theme? Sure they could but it’s very unlikely. Could Disney ever do Tomorrowland 2055? Still unlikely. Could elements from this former land be incorporated into the future Tomorrowland? This is a guarantee. As Tomorrowland continues to evolve we will see new details being added into the land. Some may even be from this very concept.
Now there was a film called Tomorrowland and it didn’t do well at all. If it would of done decent there would’ve been hope. Tomorrowland could of been granted with new futuristic architecture. Plus a thematic landscape that looked similar to the film.
The Future That Never Was

Disney will continue to infuse intellectual property into Tomorrowland. Although they will most likely still stick with the theme of the future that never was. Where we had flying cars, could communicate with aliens, and we all had robot butlers. Although in this piece I did say Disney may dabble with experimental ideas in Tommorowland in the future.
Tomorrowland Speedway: Updated or Replaced
This is a question that will be answered in the near future. Will Disney finally update the Tomorrowland Speedway or will they can it for new experiences?
Updating the attraction would be replacing the gasoline guzzling cars for newer, sleek electric cars. Have the Speedway be themed with Tomorrowland scenes and props to enhance the overall driving experience.
In case they do replace the attraction there is so many possibilities they could do. The possibilities are endless.
Stitch’s Great Escape Replacement
This one is another guarantee to happen in the near future. What will we end up getting is still unknown. Could we see Wall-E get his big break into Disney Parks? That property would make the most sense for Tomorrowland. It represents the future if we don’t decide to change it. Also not to mention Wall-E is a lovable, animated character, and that creates merch!
Well Tomorrowland will continue to evolve but it’s future might get more complicated as time goes on. Will The Walt Disney Company focus on IP influence or fixing parts of the futuristic land that don’t fit. The new Tomorrowland may come faster than you think.
