The large dynamic art display would show Disney characters and advertisements for Walt Disney World. This gives another eye-popping sight while you drive along I-4. This is according to Orange County records and a new report from the Orlando Business Journal.
“The dynamic art will include a lighting display on the entire North, West and South façades and a digital display that will wrap the north and west facades of the parking garage in a flowing, ribbon-like configuration including subtle changing or moving art created by the creative and imaginative teams of the Walt Disney Company and its affiliates,” according to the project summary details.
On top of the large dynamic art display on the side of the Hollywood Plaza Garage, Disney will also take over the first-floor retail space inside the Hollywood Plaza.
Disney will partner with AOA and Mitsubishi on the ribbon-like display project.
The project should be complete by late 2022 if Disney gains all the right approvals for the project. The large dynamic art display will weigh 114,671 pounds. It will be 30 feet high and 337 feet long.
Disney has found another way to advertise Walt Disney World in Orlando. But will it come at the cost of more distracted I-4 drivers? I sure hope not I-4 doesn’t need any more distractions (its continual construction does that enough). Also, it’s good to see Disney is opening a storefront in Hollywood Plaza. That’s different than the typical news we’ve seen about brick-and-mortar Disney Stores lately.
