In the video, Neal Emery, Principal Landscape Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, revealed that he and other Imagineers took a research trip to the Yucatán Peninsula, one of the many locales from which inspiration is drawn for the Tropical Americas area. Emery revealed they studied culture, art, and the archaeology.
Emery then revealed the 3D models that Imagineering visualized based on the stories they wanted to tell. Emery made very subtle hints at Encanto and Indiana Jones in this video. Disney previously teased those being the properties included in this Tropical Americas land. Another property that will likely be confirmed is Coco although it may be on a smaller scale in comparison to the attractions being planned for Encanto and Indiana Jones.

You can see in the image above Walt Disney Imagineering has various trees and different levels of grounds planned. The casita from Encanto is also seen. I’m assuming this will be one of the many “wow” moments in this land, as there are a lot of people who want to see the world of Encanto come to life.

This model shows a possible entrance to the land. It matches up with the bottom half of the concept art quite well too.

This model shows off what will likely be the design of the Temple they are going to build for the Indiana Jones attraction. This Indiana Jones attraction won’t be a clone from Disneyland and will have a new storyline.

The casita from Encanto up close. It’s rumored that this attraction will be a big people eater, fans are hoping it’s a trackless dark ride in a similar vein to Hong Kong Disneyland’s Mystic Manor.
We’re expected to get more news on this Tropical Americas area in the near future and at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
