The highly-anticipated Super Nintendo World will open at Universal Studios Japan on February 4, 2021. Universal has released new photos from the land and all that it will entail. The most exciting details were the photos from the new Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge attraction.

Look at those awesome karts that look straight out of the iconic game. It seems like we will have a Mario kart, and then we will have karts for different characters like Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and more.
Bowser’s Castle will be home of the Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge attraction. Look at the massive details from inside the castle. Featuring a daunting statue of Bowser himself.

A special look at the Mario Kart/Universal trophy that will be featured inside the attraction.

Guests will also see another wall of trophies that feature the trophies from the Mario Kart games.

Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge will bring guests into the world of Mario Kart and let them race on the famous courses from the game. The attraction will be brought to life from AR headsets, projection mapping, physical sets, and screen projection.

The AR headset will allow guests to interact with their environment. For example, the AR will allow guests to see boxes and obstacles just like the video game. The below image is just another piece of concept art for the attraction. Universal is also branding the land with #WeAreMario.

The other attraction within Super Nintendo World is Yoshi’s Adventure. The calmer attraction is essentially a treasure hunt game that will provide guests with a spectacular view of the Mushroom Kingdom.

The land will also feature power up bands, that will allow guests to interact with various places and compete in challenges throughout Super Nintendo World. There will be an upcharge challenge called The Power Up Band Key Challenge that will use the power bands in a whole new way like, “flying, hitting blocks, collecting coins and items, and using your whole body.” The main challenge looks to be helping Peach take back the golden mushroom from Bowser Jr. The final challenge will be a boss battle.
