Universal Studios Hollywood Update: May 8-May 14

Welcome back to another Universal Studios Hollywood update.

Welcome back to another Universal Studios Hollywood update where some changes are coming to the park. Let’s start with CityWalk, then check out Halloween Horror Nights, and then end this update with a little merch search!

CityWalk

Over at the former Starbucks location in CityWalk, new signs point to some new experiences coming soon. Some are speculating that a Tribute Store could be coming to this location, but I will be keeping a watchful eye out every single week to look for signs of what is to come here.

Halloween Horror Nights Construction

It is now May and that means we are getting very close to announcement season for HHN. We already know one of the houses will be themed to Chucky, but there are 8 other houses and the Terror Tram in which we have yet to find out the IP (Intellectual Property) attached. No matter what property goes here, the Parisian Courtyard house looks absolutely stunning and gives off some very Spanish vibes.

A new experience is coming soon!

One of the final tents has gone up and it is the tent that always goes right next to The Mummy.

Just a stunning set design going on with this façade!

Lastly, no significant visible progress has been made on the house behind Transformers.

This house is so new that no wood has been laid down just yet.

Death Eaters Returning!

The Death Eaters will be returning for every night of Grad Bash as well as every time the Dark Arts at Hogwarts plays this summer!

The façade details are so far hard to see on this house.

Grad Bash Returns

Grad Bash is returning to the park starting this Friday, May 12th, and continuing on select days through June, so expect the park to be a bit busier in the evenings of a Grad Bash day.

Production Central Merch Search

While it is still open, I am hoping it is closing permanently by the end of May as the Team Member suggested, but while it is open, Production Central has a store-wide discount of 50% off, and some items are even more discounted, so let’s take a look at what they had this past weekend.

In a bit of a blast from the past, you can get Hogwarts facemasks for each house.

Blast from the COVID past.

A lot of the store is dedicated to Harry Potter, which is great because you can a lot of merch discounted just steps away from the actual land where everything is full price!

A whole corner of the store is devoted to Potter.

If you missed out on Grinchmas at Universal, you now have a chance to get some leftover holiday merch!

Christmas in May!

Here is another blast from the past, 2019 to be exact. This shirt was from the opening of Jurassic World: The Ride!

Opening Day Jurassic World Shirt!

They even have merch from the UNIVRS store out in CityWalk. This store carries unique streetwear type clothing themed to various Universal brands.

Specialty Merch!

I thought this was super cool, they have some merch from the Jurassic Park section of Universal Orlando! The team member said when all this merch is gone, then it is gone so you better get down to the park and grab some before everyone else does! Lastly, throughout the month of May, while supplies last, annual passholders can get their own Super Nintendo World AP magnet at the Universal Studios Store on the upper lot by the entrance to the park!

Well, that is going to do it for this week’s update. Are you excited for the return of the Death Eaters? What merch caught your eye from Production Central? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates from Universal Studios Hollywood and even Epic Universe out at Universal Orlando Resort!
