Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro took the D23 stage on Sunday to showcase what’s coming to Disney Parks around the world to celebrate the Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary, coined 100 Years of Wonder.
He revealed that two brand new nighttime spectaculars are coming to the Disneyland Resort in California: Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland and World of Color — One at Disney’s California Adventure.
Wondrous Journeys is a fireworks show that showcases all 60 Walt Disney Animation films to date. According to a press release from The Walt Disney company, the show will take “viewers on a journey filled with artistry, music, storytelling, and heart.” No concept art was released for the show.
World of Color — One takes a more broad look at Disney’s 100 years of storytelling, including other properties like Pixar in the mix. They’ll also “tell a new story through Disney classics and new favorites.”
The concept art for World of Color — One highlights Mulan, The Lion King, Encanto, Coco, Moana and Soul: all animated films.
Our question is this: Will the new show highlight live-action films like older versions of World of Color or bring in Lucasfilm and Marvel films?
Only time will tell.
Both Wondrous Journeys and World of Color — One come to Disneyland Resort in January 2023.
