TRON Lightcycle/Run Could Receive The Easiest Overlay in 2025 Because of ‘TRON: Ares’

The easiest overlay of all time could happen in 2025 due to TRON: ARES.

TRON Lightcycle/Run could receive the easiest overlay of all time.

I’m not saying it will happen either but Disney if they wanted to for a limited time could change one of the lighting packages on TRON Lightcycle/Run to be red for Ares. The next Tron film doesn’t come out until October 2025. Next year at Walt Disney World it’s going to be light on “new” experiences. This may be an easy win for your annual passholders and more frequent guests. I guess an overlay as easy as this would depend on whether TRON Lightcycle/Run is still in the virtual queue phase or not.

To me, I can’t imagine it being difficult to make some of the lighting packages red and including some of the music from Nine Inch Nails. To me this would be literally killing two birds with one stone: you promote Tron: Ares and you technically gave Walt Disney World something “new” for the year.

I could see some factors in which Walt Disney World may not want to do this but if they get support from Walt Disney Studios it could be an easy win all around. Sure, there are still many guests that haven’t experienced TRON Lightcycle/Run as is but this overlay wouldn’t be disruptive and should still give you the same experience.

What are your opinions on my easiest overlay of all time?

Tron: Ares stars Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee, Evan Peters and Jared Leto. The film will be released in theaters on October 10, 2025.
