Tessa Thompson is saying that Marvel Studios has been pitched an idea for Thor 4. This is some intriguing news as we head into Avengers: Endgame. Which will feature Valkyrie, Thompson’s character, and explain what she has been doing since Thor: Ragnarok.
Could Tessa Thompson be taking over the mantle of Thor? That’s a possibility even though Chris Hemsworth is willing to continue into the future MCU phases. Also, I don’t know what ramifications that would have on the Valkyrie character.
This is what the Thompson told the LA Times during her press day:
“I heard that a pitch has happened for [another “Thor” film]. I don’t know how real that intel is, but I hear that the pitch has happened. I think the idea is Taika [Waititi, who directed ‘Ragnarok’] would come back.”
We know Valkyrie is alive during Avengers: Endgame because her #AvengeTheFallen poster was in color. We also know Korg and Miek from Thor: Ragnarok will be appearing in Avengers: Endgame. This was revealed when Marvel Studios released their Twitter hashtag emojis.
Chris Hemsworth said he was exhausted and underwhelmed with the character of Thor before Taika Waititi came along. So, the duo of Hemsworth-Thompson may get another Marvel film together. Which would be awesome to see.
Thor 4 will be fascinating if it comes to fruition. Depending on what happens after Endgame and how it fits in with the future of the MCU. For now, we have Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson appearing in Avengers: Endgame on April 26. The duo is also starring in Men in Black: International which comes to theaters on June 14.
