This Fan-Made Muppets Parody of ‘Hamilton’ Might Be The Best Thing on the Internet

The Muppets + Hamilton = The Crossover We Needed.

YouTube user Ricky Downes III might’ve created one of the best videos ever, and I don’t say that lightly. The video titled “Hamilton Act 1 but it’s Muppets” has over 687,000 views. The video features spot-on Muppet impersonations, and reimagines Hamilton but with The Muppets. Kermit the Frog plays Alexander Hamilton, Gonzo the Great plays Aaron Burr, Miss Piggy channels her best Eliza Schuyler, Fozzie Bear plays everyone’s favorite Frenchman Marquis de LaFozette, Sam the Eagle plays George Washington the only way he can, and more Muppets are featured in Act 1.

The video is impressive as it covers every single song in Act 1 of Hamilton. The video even features relatable Muppet humor and occasional jokes from Statler and Waldorf. Downes has also announced that there will be an Act 2 for his video and that it will be released on the same day that Muppets Now hits Disney+ which is July 31. It looks like July 31 is shaping up to be a good day for Muppet fans.

Fozzie Bear is incredible during “Guns and Ships” and I can’t wait to watch Act 2 of The Muppets doing Hamilton. I sure hope Disney/The Muppets are actually paying attention to this because more Muppet parody content like this would be awesome.
