One of the biggest shockers out of Destination D23 was the announcement that Test Track would go under another reimagining.
The last renovation to the attraction took place in 2012. 11 years later, General Motors/Chevrolet feels like the sponsorship with Disney has paid off and they are willing to spend money for another reimagining of the fan-favorite attraction at EPCOT.
Walt Disney Imagineers along with teams from Chevrolet are reaching back into EPCOT history for inspiration — from the original World of Motion — and bringing that spirit of optimism to the next iteration of the Test Track.More will be revealed on this future Test Track update in the near future.
The World of Motion-inspired Test Track looks to take elements from Test Track 2.0 and blend them with more optimistic visuals. Every 10 years, the automotive industry changes so it makes sense that Test Track does the same. It will be fascinating to see what Imagineering and Chevrolet come up with.
Fans have been divided for years on which version of Test Track is better. Many fans preferred the storyline of the first incarnation of Test Track, and just how the whole attraction played out. Whereas, another group of fans appreciated Test Track 2.0 due to its creativity like building your own car, and the more futuristic visuals that are placed throughout the queue and attraction.
Will Test Track 3.0 perhaps strike the perfect balance between Test Track 1.0, Test Track 2.0, and World of Motion? I guess we will have to wait and see.
