The Mighty Ducks trilogy is currently streaming on Disney+. If you’re missing some Coach Gordon Bombay don’t worry because he’s returning in early 2021. That’s right Emilio Estevez will reprise his role from the original The Mighty Ducks trilogy in The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. The series will also feature Gilmore Girls star, Lauren Graham.
The next chapter in The Mighty Ducks franchise, which has spawned a real life hockey team and an animated series, is in present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom Alex (Lauren Graham) set out to build their own ragtag team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports.
I don’t know about you but if this series is anywhere close to Cobra Kai, in terms of taking a film trilogy and then creating an awesome streaming series, then Disney+ will have a bonafide hit on their hands.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will premiere on Disney+ in early 2021.
