It’s hard to believe that the last time The Mandalorian had a new episode in the year was 2020. Maybe that is harder to believe for two reasons.
The Mandalorian, the series that kicked off Star Wars streaming efforts on Disney+, will likely return in late 2022 or early 2023. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will be back to oversee the series. Pedro Pascal will continue to star as The Mandalorian Din Djarin, and of course, Grogu better known as Baby Yoda will be involved.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Joining Pedro Pascal for season three is Christopher Lloyd of Back to the Future fame. Giancarlo Esposito and Carl Weathers will return as Moff Gideon and Greef Karga. We should get more casting and plot news about The Mandalorian in the coming months. I wouldn’t even rule out some news at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration (May 26–29).
My bet is that The Mandalorian season three ends up being a Disney+ holiday gift and the show premieres near Christmas or New Year’s Eve. That would make a ton of sense in my opinion.
