Del Rey announced on Twitter Tuesday that the previously announced Mandalorian novel will not be released as anticipated.
The Mandalorian An Original Novel was an upcoming canon novel by Adam Christopher that was going to be an original in the next chapter of The Mandalorian. It was to be released on November 2, 2021.
The Mandalorian: An Original Novel was first announced back in June 2020 and was supposed to be the first canon novel set in The Mandalorian timeline. Not much information after its announcement was released. Christopher has contributed to the two From a Certain Point of View books and also wrote Tales from Wild Space: Alone in the Dark.

“At the moment, we’re keeping things under wraps — including the title, synopsis, and cover,” Christopher said on his author website.
However, Del Rey said this is no longer the case.
“Due to the ever-expanding world of The Mandalorian, we will no longer be publishing THE MANDALORIAN ORIGINAL NOVEL at this time, as the story continues to unfold on screen,” the publishing company said on Twitter. “We love working with author Adam Christopher and are already working with him on a different book. We’re excited to share details with you in the future.”

Though the novel has been cancelled, Del Rey said they are working with Christopher on another book for the future.
