‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Will Feature Zeb Orellios from ‘Star Wars: Rebels’

A fan-favorite from Star Wars: Rebels will be in The Mandalorian and Grogu.

During The Mandalorian and Grogu sneak peek, one particular scene got a loud cheer and it was a scene where Zeb Orellios from Star Wars: Rebels was helping pilot a ship for Mando. This isn’t Zeb’s first live-action appearance. He actually appeared in an episode of The Mandalorian briefly. Yet as I can tell from this scene it seems like he will have a role to play in this film. Hoping this means other characters from Rebels will be making an appearance as well.

It’s still unclear where the story goes from here as I think many we’re expecting a Season 4 of The Mandalorian. I think everyone is just hoping this film can be a solid entry in its own right and if it helps further the New Republic narrative the better. I could see this film addressing the fallout of Ahsoka and The Mandalorian Season 3 for sure. It could even address whatever happens in Skeleton Crew as well. I’d expect inbetween Mando’s big action sequences and Grogu’s funny moments we will be getting set up for Dave Filoni’s Star Wars film.

The sneak peek had several big moments Grogu and Mando facing off with snowtroopers, massive Imperial AT-AT walkers in the snow, Zeb Orrelios, and capping off with Grogu traveling with two tiny Anzellans (Babu Frik).

StarWars.com has teased The Mandalorian and Grogu as a film that will merge beloved characters from Disney+ with the cinematic scale of the Skywalker saga, blending classic and innovative filmmaking techniques as well as practical and digital effects for an all-new Star Wars story.

The Mandalorian and Grogu starring Pedro Pascal, directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Favreau, Filoni, and Ian Bryce.

The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in theaters on May 22, 2026.
