During Walt Disney Studios' presentation at CinemaCon, Marvel Studios Kevin Feige highlighted The Fantastic Four. The 2025 releases should excite theater owners for numerous reasons, but that didn’t stop Feige from selling it to the room.

Feige revealed that The Fantastic Four will be shot with IMAX in mind. Now we wait to see if Marvel Studios will officially go all in on IMAX and film The Fantastic Four with IMAX cameras. I think it’s extremely likely that will be the case. The Fantastic Four with its cosmic and retro-futuristic vibes would benefit greatly by being filmed in IMAX.

Also from a cold business perspective, IMAX and other premium format screens are driving the theater industry right now. Dune: Part Two, Oppenheimer, and Godzilla x Kong are a few examples of how IMAX and premium formats are succeeding at the box office. Marvel Studios can’t afford to coast on awareness, so I think taking some swings with IMAX could help.

The Fantastic Four will be directed by WandaVision’sMatt Shakman. The cast includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Julia Garner.

The Fantastic Four comes out on July 25, 2025.
