When I didn’t live near Walt Disney World, we had to find a hotel to stay for our visit. In my over 30 visits, we have only stayed at an official Disney hotel once. Those 30 visits would be cut in half if we had to stay on Disney property. Every one wants to stay on site but not everyone can. You can save a lot of money staying just a few miles away and still have a magical vacation.
Where can you stay near Disney World and miss the traffic and hassle of getting there? Many people stay on International Drive but this is not my suggestion. You want to avoid the traffic and not be part of it. My suggestion is to stay in Highway 192 in Kissimmee. There are many hotels that are just two miles from Animal Kingdom with easy access to all the parks.
For my family, we were more interested in being in one of the parks than the hotel pool. Our bed just a place to fall on at the end of the day after too much fun. Yes, staying on Disney property is my first choice but spending the most days in the parks is my priority.
