Star Wars Celebration Japan Reveals Unfinished Animation For Lost ‘Clone Wars’ Arc

Boba Fett and Anakin feature in an intense action sequence.

During the Lucasfilm Animation 20th Anniversary panel, Dave Filoni revealed a short clip for an unfinished arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The 2-minute-long clip has Anakin Skywalker chasing young Boba Fett through the streets of Coruscant. Fans got to see Boba in his iconic Mandalorian armor for the first time in Clone Wars style.

The sequence starts with Cad Bane and his droid sidekick, Todo, fleeing a scene, while Anakin pursues Boba. It ends with Boba escaping capture and Anakin getting a call from Mace Windu.

Although short, some story details can be guessed, pointing towards a bounty hunter plot to attack the Jedi. Boba’s hatred of Windu seems to still be at play, considering he murdered his father in Attack of the Clones. Anakin also tells Windu he doesn’t recognize who the assailant was, which means this is Boba’s first time donning the armor.

Either way, fans finally got to see a small glimpse into an unfinished Clone Wars arc featuring Boba Fett and many other iconic bounty hunters. This goes alongside a past unfinished animatic showcasing a heavy duel between Boba and Cad Bane.

There’s hope that this once long-forgotten arc could be adapted into a future project like the Tales of… Anthology shorts.
