Star Tours Is Getting New Sequences in 2024

The beloved attraction is going to get some updates.

Today at Star Wars Celebration in London, England it was revealed that new stories and characters would be coming to Star Tours at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

In 2024, more stories and characters will be added to Star Tours at three Disney destinations around the world — Disneyland Park in California, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris in France.

Disney didn’t reveal what planets, stories, or characters will be included in this next Star Tours update. However, Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, teased that sometimes reveals work better as surprises.

The likelihood is that these new Star Tours scenes will feature characters from the Star Wars Disney+ series. With these new stories and characters being added in 2024 it would be too early to include anything from the upcoming Star Wars film slate. Another thing to note is that Walt Disney Imagineering didn’t specify the exact number of sequences they will be adding in 2024. In all honesty, it could be anywhere from three sequences to one new sequence. As an optimistic Star Tours fan I’m hoping we get a few as there is so much ground to cover, especially with the Star Wars Disney+ series opening so much of the universe.

Another item to point out is that Smugglers Run didn’t get any updates announced today at the Star Wars Disney Parks panel. There is a possibility that the attraction will receive new missions in the future. The attraction was intended to have more than one mission. Yet for today, the big announcement was that more sequences are coming to Star Tours.

It’s pretty exciting news that Star Tours is getting updates. The attraction is beloved and it still brings all the feels. It also scratches the itch for every era of Star Wars fan. Fans should be looking forward to these updates. I know I am for sure.
