It’s finally here. We have our first teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home. I’m here to break it all down. We knew it would be insane and it definitely lived up to the hype. Let’s get right into it!
Beginning shots of the trailer are from the mid-credits scene in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

The intriguing part as we waited for this trailer for me wasn’t the whole multiverse aspect. That was cool in its own right but the one thing I wanted out of a teaser trailer was to see what happened in the following moments after the enormous mid-credits scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
And Spider-Man: No Way Home delivered those moments…
We got Peter and MJ swinging out of the scene we saw them in. J. Jonah Jameson continues on about Peter Parker being Spider-Man and Public Enemy #1. One fascinating part is that we don’t see J. Jonah Jameson in the rest of the trailer. It honestly seems weird Peter and his friends wouldn’t confront him over something as major as this.
Peter Parker’s lawyer… looks to be Matt Murdock

The Department of Damage Control interrogates Peter Parker over the London incident at the end of Far From Home involving Mysterio. And the man who slams the files on the table looks a lot like Matt Murdock also known as Daredevil.
We could be witnessing an MCU debut right before our eyes as Matt Murdock is a lawyer and he along with She-Hulk are the popular picks for Peter Parker’s lawyer. This will be one heck of a court case. Hopefully, Murdock will point out that Mysterio was never really real and that he was just a bitter ex-Stark employee.
Will that be enough to exonerate Peter Parker? Guess we will find out in December.
Doctor Strange’s involvement

Obviously, Peter Parker’s identity being revealed is bringing a lot of harm to his loved ones. So, Peter goes to visit Doctor Strange. It’s unclear what their relationship is like by this time because this film takes place months after Endgame. It seems like they are friendly and have a bond because well they saved half the universe together. Something that Doctor Strange brings up.
Peter asks Doctor Strange if he could do a spell that would make everyone forget that Mysterio revealed his identity. Doctor Strange’s right-hand man Wong comes in and tells him not to do that spell.
Strange says he won’t but this look says it all.

It’s clear Peter didn’t think through the ramifications of the spell. Doctor Strange seems a little too eager to cast this game-changing spell. Maybe Doctor Strange wants to just help out a friend? Still, it’s unclear why they would both go for this. But then again the movie has to happen right?
Obviously, the spell tampering caused some kind of ripple within the multiverse.
Strange and Spidey fight

We saw Doctor Strange and Spider-Man fight on this train. It’s a wild and trippy sequence but we don’t know why they are fighting each other. During this scene, we hear Strange in the next scene sternly tell Peter that “the problem is you are trying to live two different lives. The longer you do it, the more dangerous it becomes.”
This film is going to be a blast.
The Astral Projection

We see Doctor Strange give Spider-Man the astral projection treatment. Something that the Ancient One has done to Strange in Doctor Strange and to The Hulk in Endgame. Maybe Peter was annoying Strange and this is what happens?
Happy Hogan

I hope nothing happens to our boy. Maybe some bad people are coming after Happy because he helped Peter in London? It’s great to see Happy Hogan back in the MCU though.
Sandman and Electro and Black and Gold Suit Spidey

The shot has a lot going on but what we can identify is Spider-Man is in a black and gold suit. Jamie Foxx’s Electro is clearly doing something and Sandman is also involved. Thomas Haden Church from the Raimi trilogy is rumored to reprise his role. It’s clear we are going to see Spidey take on a multiverse version of the Sinister Six.
Green Goblin Bomb

A Green Goblin bomb that we would see during the Raimi trilogy rolled onto the screen during the trailer. Essentially confirming Willem Dafoe’s return as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin. His signature laugh was head in the trailer along with him saying “be careful for what you wish for, Parker.”
Hopefully, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin isn’t the only time we see the character in the MCU. As MCU Spider-Man and the rest of the MCU dealing with their own version of Norman Osborn/Green Goblin would be awesome to watch.
Doc Ock

Now the other major reveal was Doc Ock’s tentacles throughout the trailer and the trailer ends on the cliffhanger of Dock Ock saying “Hello, Peter.” But it’s unclear which Peter he’s talking to.
My prediction is he’s saying hello to Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man because none of these multiversal villains are going to recognize or know Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
It will be interesting to see how this entire film comes together but just from the trailer, you can tell it’s going to be a wild ride. From the simple idea of Peter Parker’s identity being revealed to a potential multiversal Sinister Six crisis.
December, can’t come soon enough!
Spider-Man: No Way Home releases only in theaters on December 17, 2021.
