On March 1, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will welcome aboard its first group of guests on the Halcyon. In the lead-up to this moment, Disney has revealed some of the lore behind this luxury starship.
The biggest lore tie-in to date — or the one that riled the Star Wars fandom the most — is that Han Solo and Princess Leia spent their honeymoon aboard the Halcyon. This moment in galactic history was heavily hinted at during Destination D23 this past November.
The new book The Princess and The Scoundrel will flesh out Han and Leia’s wedding and honeymoon on the Halycon. Their adventure on the Halcyon includes fending off remnants of the defeated Empire.
The experience on the Halcyon in the current day is in the same timeline as Galaxy’s Edge (Batuu). It’s set between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. It’s also been confirmed there will be a moment between Rey and Kylo Ren on the voyage. So expect some action from The First Order and The Resistance during your voyage. What is unclear is how some of these legendary lore moments like Han and Leia will play into the current day Halcyon.
Han and Leia aren’t the only Star Wars characters to have embarked on the Halcyon. With the miniseries Marvel’s Star Wars: Halcyon Legacy. The miniseries will revisit the Halcyon at different moments in Star Wars history including Lando Calrissian teaming up with Hondo Ohnaka for the first time. Hondo Ohnaka is the main character in the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
There is also a secret from the High Republic era that will help guests aboard the Halcyon. High Republic characters like Burryaga and Nib Assek have visited the ship.
Aurra Sing from The Clone Wars has also visited the Halcyon. Zam Wessel from Attack of the Clones also visited. Leia and Han can’t have all the fun either. Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker also went on a mission on the Halcyon and they get into a collision with Asajj Ventress.
And this is just the start of the lore of the Halcyon. Lucasfilm will likely tell stories with the Halcyon for years to come.
