A new permit was filed yesterday for the demolition of the Golden Bear Theater at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Rumors have swirled that the theater, the former Lucky Dragon restaurant, and possibly the Ninja roller coaster were all up for redevelopment for a major new attraction for 2025.
Markers started appearing around The Lucky Dragon over the summer and markers appeared near the theater during Fright Fest. It has been rumored for a couple of years now that Magic Mountain was slated to potentially get a VERY BIG roller coaster in 2025, and separate rumors have indicated that the Samurai Summit area on top of the hill was the next to receive a big renovation and boy does it need it.
The Lucky Dragon has not been open in years and has wood coming off from it. The two Fright Fest mazes use structures that are abandoned the rest of the year and the mazes themselves seem to be on their last legs. Ninja is a very old coaster and has been rumored to be next on the chopping block. Ninja, the restaurant, and the theater all form a diagonal line with each other sparking rumors all three could be demoed soon.
Rumors have it that a massive roller coaster will be coming to this area potentially even a GIGA coaster which would have a 300 or more foot drop. I am not quite sure how accurate or credible those rumors are, but they have been mentioned by quite a few people out there. As mentioned before, this will be a 2025 addition and I will be going to the park twice a month for construction updates on this brand-new attraction.
