Marvel Studios provided an update on the Disney+ series Secret Invasion during its Comic-Con panel.
Secret Invasion stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos — characters who first met in Captain Marvel. They are joined by Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, and Olivia Colman. Cobie Smulders will return as Maria Hill in the series. Don Cheadle and Martin Freeman will also appear in the series as Rhodey and Everett Ross.
The series will lean into the paranoia of if someone is a human or a Skrull and the tone is said to be a lot darker and more serious than other Marvel titles. The crossover event series showcases a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years. Obviously, we will find out that some of these Skrulls aren’t good.
Secret Invasion premieres in Spring 2023 on Disney+.
