In a exclusive from Collider, Scarlett Johansson will produce and star in a Tower of Terror movie at Disney.
Plot details are currently under wraps but Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley is penning the script. There is currently no director attached to the project. Johansson will produce alongside Jonathan Lia.
Disney made a TV movie called Tower of Terror back in 1997 starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst. Tower of Terror theatrical film has been in development at Disney since 2015. Disney is trying to capitalize on the popularity of its fan-favorite attraction at the Disney Parks.
Similar to Disney reimagining its animated classics for live-action. It seems Disney is just as eager to create films based on its beloved theme park attractions. Maybe with the hopes one of these films could blossom into a profitable franchise like Pirates of the Caribbean?
But before any of this happens. Scarlett Johansson will star in Black Widow on July 9.
