RUMOR: Disney Vacation Club Reportedly Will Raise Minimum Point Requirements for Membership Extras

DVC is reportedly raising the minimum point requirements for members to access membership extras like dining and merchandise discounts, member-exclusive lounges, and discounts on annual passes.

According to DVCNews.com, Disney is reportedly raising the points minimum to qualify for Membership Extras. Disney’s move will reportedly happen soon and will result from Disney Vacation Club Membership Extras going from 100 points to 125 points.

The 125 points must be directly purchased from Disney to be eligible, and this will not include resale points. Membership Extras include access to member-exclusive lounges like the one in EPCOT’S Imagination pavilion, access to Moonlight Magic after-hour events, discounts on Annual Passes, and discounts on dining and merchandise.

If this rumor does come true this will be for new members of the Disney Vacation Club. Old members will be grandfathered in similar to when point minimums were raised in the past.

This is a fascinating rumor considering the raise in points is for extras that are kinda key to the DVC experience. I’m curious to see how this plays out, and if there is even more changes on the way to the Disney Vacation Club due to COVID-19’s effect on the tourism world.

Disney hasn’t announced this change yet so for now we will be taking this as a rumor.
