Ranking the Announced Marvel Shows for Disney+

The MCU is going bold into the streaming wars with Disney.

Marvel Month

Disney+ has announced an ambitious slate of Marvel content which has now been confirmed. I’m going to rank the announced (or confirmed) Marvel Disney+ shows.

5. Loki

This may be me but Loki having a series is like one of those okay I’ll take it type of deals. Obviously, the series will be influenced by Loki’s appearance in Avengers: Endgame. Even though we get Tom Hiddleston reprising the role. I just feel like Loki’s time in the MCU has been completed, and that Disney+’s MCU offerings should highlight some of the underutilized players.

With that being said, I understand Loki has a pretty passionate fan base and I don’t refuse any Marvel content so let’s go.

4.Hawkeye

Similar situation to Loki but not entirely. I’m still more excited for Hawkeye and maybe it is because he’s one of the original Avengers. His series is supposedly going to feature Kate Bishop. Who takes over the mantle of Hawkeye in the comics. Maybe Hawkeye will be like a backdoor pilot for a Young Avengers series or movie. The series has the potential to set up the future of the MCU and explain how the Young Avengers may exactly work. Kate Bishop could end up being the “Tony Stark” of the Young Avengers.

Still, Hawkeye was fantastic in Endgame. So having this character get six to eight more hours will be good. Not to mention it will be fascinating to see the film stars of the MCU take on streaming shows for Disney+.

3. Falcon and Winter Soldier

Now, this is where my excitement really begins. Falcon & Winter Soldier already had massive potential as a team up series. But now after Endgame, we know Falcon was passed the shield from Captain America. Making Sam Wilson the new Captain America. What does this mean for Bucky Barnes? Hopefully, this series will answer our questions and build upon the future of the MCU.

Chris Evans was supposed to direct one of the episodes but I guess that fell through. Still, we will get to see the returns of Daniel Brühl and Emily Van Camp as Zemo and Sharon Carter (Agent 13).

2. Wandavision

WandaVision should be a prequel and there are a couple of reasons I’m excited about it.

WandaVision has the potential to be a compelling series, and if it is done right it could help cement Scarlet Witch’s future in the MCU. It’s also possible that WandaVision could be a direct sequel series to Endgame with Scarlet Witch resurrecting Vision somehow. Especially, now that people are speculating that Black Widow and Original Gamora may find their way back into the MCU.

1. What If

What If has me the most excited as it is Marvel Studios first venture into Animation. It will also have voice acting from the actors and actresses of the MCU. The first episode is going to deal with if Peggy Carter received the super serum, and if Steve Rogers got an Iron Man-like suit. What If should be arriving during the first year of Disney+, and I can’t wait.

Hopefully, the MCU based animated series touches some of these famous What If titles like; What if Jane Foster had found the hammer of Thor, What if Captain America was elected President, What if Tony Stark became Sorcerer Supreme, and What if Uncle Ben lived. All of those would make fun animated shows and I’m sure the folks at Marvel Studios will come up with some original What If’s to fit their universe.
