Disney + launched its new streaming service and it’s been quite a hit. With tons of old content for previous fans, they had a couple of original content they launched as well. One of them being High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The show follows the students at the original high school where HSM was filmed, with a new theater teacher encouraging students to launch a musical of the movie on stage. The first season unpacked a lot, with main characters Nini and Ricky struggling to navigate the tricky waters of high school. If you haven’t finished watching season one, click out of this and go watch it. Now, there’s a lot of questions for what season two has in store.
At the end of the season, we see the recruiter for the performing arts school come up to Nini to congratulate her on being accepted into the program. Leaving the audience on a questioning note, it leaves us to wonder will she accept right after she got back together with Ricky?
Will Ricky’s Dad start dating Miss Jenn?
Miss Jenn and Ricky’s Dad have a cute meeting in the middle of the show. Before realizing that he’s a Dad to one of her students, Miss Jenn is immediately drawn to him. But, what about all those electric moments Miss Jenn had with Mr. Mazzara? Disney can’t honestly tell us that it was nothing?
What’s going to happen to Gina?
Once Gina has a heart-to-heart with Ricky we realize the truth about why she is the way she is. She struggles with constantly moving and never having enough time to make friends and this is the primary reason why she has to move mid-show. Coming back to perform one last time for the big opening night we’re left with her and Ashlyn talking about her living situation. Leading us to assume that Gina will most likely move in with Ashlyn but it still leaves us asking how’s that going to work?
Are Ashlyn and Big Red dating?
In the credits scene, we see a tap performance by Big Red that is quite, astonishing, to say the least. Big Red is constantly telling everyone in the performance that he doesn’t have any skills but shocks not only us but Ashlyn as well with his amazing tap skills. Watching from a corner Ashlyn rushes out and kisses him. What does this mean for the two of them?
Will there be another musical?
The most important question is, will there be another musical? After all of this, will the musical still be HSM based or will they go a completely different track? What are the options for how they’ll approach season two? I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series returns to Disney+ for season two later this year.
