Previewing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Epic Universe

Let’s take a look at the plans for Harry Potter at Universal Epic Universe.

In 2019, Universal Studios announced they would be opening a new theme park, Universal Epic Universe, in Orlando. Since this announcement, construction has been delayed, but it appears as though the park is on track to open by Summer 2025.

Epic Universe will have a hub-and-spoke format, meaning that each of the four themed lands will branch off of a main hub. The four lands will be based on Super Nintendo World (which opened in February at Universal Studios Hollywood), Dark Universe (Universal Classic Monsters), Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and How to Train Your Dragon.

The Wizarding World land is intended to be an expansion of the current themed section at Universal Studios.

As of now, it looks as though the third installation of the Wizarding World at Universal will focus entirely on the Ministry of Magic according to Orlando ParkStop. The main attraction, which will also be the largest ride at Epic Universe, is rumored to be the “Battle of the Ministry of Magic.” Guests will use the Floo Network to enter the queue, allegedly passing by the Fountain of Magical Brethren, Ministry departments, and Dolores Umbridge’s office.

The alleged synopsis of the ride is that guests would be attending Umbridge’s trial. Another rumored plot of the ride is that an erumpent has escaped from the Department of Magical Creatures and will be chasing riders.

An additional second ride described as a VR attraction, was rumored to be in the works earlier, but it appears as though this idea has been scrapped. The ride, taking inspiration from the Fantastic Beast series, would have allowed guests to fly on a broomstick. With the use of VR headsets, Newt Scamander would fly through Paris with those on the ride.

Towards the end of the land, there appears to be a large theater. According to released permits, it looks as if it will be five stories and have at least 642 seats. While nothing has been confirmed yet, fans have speculated it may be an interactive show.

While there is still a long way to go until 2025, we have loved hearing all of the rumors and possibilities for Epic Universe! Which one of these is your favorite?
