Previewing Dark Universe (Universal Classic Monsters) at Universal Epic Universe
Let’s take a look at the plans for the Universal Classic Monsters section of Universal Epic Universe.

Now that you have seen the amazing plans for the Wizarding World land of Epic Universe, let’s discuss the plans for the spooky Dark Universe area.
This area will be themed to Universal’s famous classic monsters and will feature plenty of special effects and two fantastic rides that will include audio-animatronics.

Let’s start with the entry portal. Each portal of Epic Universe will be uniquely themed to each land that it represents. The entry portal to the Dark Universe, which was trademarked by Universal recently, will be a spooky dead tree that guests will walk through. From there, guests will enter the main village which based on recent trademarks is rumored to be named Darkmoor. In the village will be a few quick-service restaurants as well as potentially a tattoo shop and a psychic. These rumors are all based on recent trademarked names as well as info from the incredible Alicia Stella at Orlando ParkStop.
Coming out of Darkmoor, you will get the reveal of the land's two attractions which are a roller coaster and a dark ride. In the original concept art, there was supposed to be a large amphitheater for a large show, but that was scrapped in favor of another attraction. The roller coaster is rumored to be a family spinning coaster manufactured by MACK Rides. It is rumored to be named, Curse of the Werewolf, and includes at least one animatronic. This will be a launched coaster and include a swing launch inside the barn structure. A swing launch is a type of launch that launches the coaster trains forward and backward until they reach enough speed to get over the hill and continue the course. It is rumored that inside the barn there will be an animatronic of the werewolf creature.
The second and largest ride in the land will be similar to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. This attraction will be very large about five stories tall and be located in a show building themed to Frankenstein's Manor. This ride system will be using KUKA arms, and the track is already being installed inside the building. Unlike Forbidden Journey, this attraction is said to feature all animatronics of nearly every single classic monster in Universal’s lineup! The rumored story is that the Frankenstein Manor is now a tourist attraction and Victoria Frankenstein (who is rumored to show up in the queue as an animatronic) is pretty upset about that. So she comes over to the manor and unleashes all the monsters to attack the guests as they tour the manor and we must escape! It is rumored you will see tons of animatronics of all the monsters and that the ride vehicles will be less claustrophobic than the current Forbidden Journey vehicles. It is also rumored the seats will be shaped like coffins. The exit to the ride will lead through a gift shop and back out into the land.
Lastly, in the very back of the land will be the Windmill restaurant. This location is rumored to be inside of a small hill and has a large windmill on top of it, much like the scene from the Frankenstein movie. There are gas permits out there that have been filed that suggest this windmill will routinely light up on fire. This will be the main table service location in the land, while the quick service will be located in Darkmoor. This land will have plenty of fog at all times and monster meet and greets to really enhance the atmosphere.
There is room for a second phase of the Dark Universe with a Creature of the Black Lagoon boat ride that would be the land’s third attraction.
