Best-selling author Aaron H. Goldberg (author of The Disney Story, The Wonders of Walt Disney World, Meet the Disney Brothers, and Buying Disney’s World) has a new project on the horizon. It’s a coffee table book called Presenting Disneyland: Forgotten Photos From Opening Day.
The book will feature never-before-seen color images captured by a Disney studio employee from Disneyland’s opening day. The lost photographs compiled into this book present a visual history of the overall excitement of what it was like to be in attendance at Disneyland on July 17, 1955.

Presenting Disneyland also includes images of the park before it opened to the public, and prior to the filming of the television program. In addition to what was captured on opening day, there are a few photos of the park from the days before and after it opened.
A unique aspect of the never-before-seen images is that none of them were coordinated, orchestrated, or prepared by Disney for the media. This is a true spectator’s view at the dawn of Disneyland. Goldberg after acquiring the images in 2022 knew he had to share them with the world as they are not only a part of Disney’s history but an important snapshot of Americana and the culture of yesterday.
Despite, the photographs taking center stage. Goldberg will still be providing written content. Such as quotes from those who were intimately involved with the Disneyland project, and those who were interviewed around the time the park was coming together and when it opened.
Presenting Disneyland is on Kickstarter and you can back the project. It’s an expensive undertaking to publish a full-color hardcover coffee-table book. Yet, if you’re a Disney fan — specifically a Disneyland fan — this project is uncovering lost photos of Disneyland from the very beginning. If you back this Kickstarter some pledges come with different rewards.
