Predictions for the Disney Treasure Cruise Ship

The Disney Treasure will set sail in 2024 but it’s never too early to predict what may be a part of the ship.

For what it’s worth, I’m basing my predictions on the first look Disney gave to the Disney Treasure at D23 Expo. I also think the IPs they included in the first look could actually be a part of the Disney Treasure in some different ways.

Coco-themed lounge

It’s clear Walt Disney Imagineering wants to do projects with the Coco IP. That’s why a Coco-themed lounge may make a lot of sense. It’s a test run to see how a Coco-themed area may do and what designs may work. The Princess and the Frog had dining and lounge experiences on the Disney Cruise ships before getting its own attraction in the Disney Parks. The same can be done for Coco.

Moana-inspired pool area

Moana will have a large influence on the Disney Treasure. It’s a nautical property and Disney has embraced it on the Disney Cruise Line. I believe we will only see the Moana presence expand on the Disney Cruise Line. It would make perfect sense for a pool area to be entirely themed to Moana.

Haunted Mansion lounge

If the Disney Cruise ships are extensions of the parks then why not try this? Also, why would you include the Hitchhiking Ghosts in your first-look video? Maybe it’s a classic case of the Disney IP dartboard of just picking out random properties and characters. But let me dream for a second that this is actually a teaser for a Haunted Mansion lounge. Fans have been craving a Haunted Mansion bar/dining experience for years. A Haunted Mansion lounge would be a winning concept anywhere so why not test it on the Disney Treasure?

A New Marvel Dining Experience With Namor

Worlds of Marvel restaurant was quite the experience. The experience featured Avengers: Quantum Encounter which saw Ant-Man, The Wasp, Ms. Marvel, Captain America, and Captain Marvel teaming up to fight Ultron on the Disney Wish.

Marvel is one of Disney’s biggest properties, and I have to believe that a version of the Worlds of Marvel restaurant will be a part of the Disney Treasure. Maybe this next Marvel dining experience utilizes Namor, a water-based villain? I just can’t get the visual of Namor and members of Talokan invading and flooding the Disney Treasure. Obviously, Disney may run into complications with using Namor as the character’s film rights are still owned — somehow — by Universal. I think Disney could cut a deal for this if they really wanted to do it.

Maybe you go with a totally different Avengers team this time as well? What about Spider-Man, Wong, Kate Bishop, Doctor Strange, and Ironheart? It could be a cool way to make the experiences differ and keep things fresh. Plus these Marvel experiences aren’t canon to the MCU so they really can get wild with their choices.

A New Waterslide Attraction Like The AquaMouse

Maybe it’s another story within the Runaway Railway universe? Or Disney could opt to go in a different direction and incorporate characters from Finding Nemo or another Disney nautical franchise. I just expect another waterslide attraction similar to the AquaMouse on the Disney Treasure.

I believe I’ll have more predictions for the Disney Treasure as time goes on. The ship sails in 2024 so I bet in 2023 we will start to hear a lot about the plans for the Disney Treasure. Maybe some of my predictions will come true.
