In late April, it was announced that Paradise Pier Hotel would undergo a name change and a theme change to Pixar. This inevitable retheme got my brain flowing with ideas and I decided to see how many possible Pixar Hotel names I could come up with.
So, here we go.
Hotel Emeryville
Credit to DSNY Newscast for giving me the idea to include Emeryville in the potential name change for the Pixar hotel. I think including Pixar’s location makes it sound classier and also is a sweet nod considering this hotel is right by Disney California Adventure.
Despite this probably being renamed to Pixar Pier Hotel, my suggestion would be "Hotel Emeryville: Art of Pixar Hotel" à la "Hotel New York: Art of Marvel" in Paris.
But personally I still would've preferred my concept for an Avengers Hotel Quarters/Art of Avengers hotel instead pic.twitter.com/TUDaeXm7rs

Luxo Tower: The Art of Pixar

This would be similar to Hotel New York: Art of Marvel but I could just imagine a Luxo Tower logo being the iconic Pixar lamp encompassing the hotel tower.
Pixar Pier Hotel

This may be the easiest name to retheme the Paradise Pier hotel too. Just call it the Pixar Pier hotel. After all, this hotel is going to have a “portal” into Disney California Adventure/Pixar Pier. It would make the most sense and probably is the frontrunner.
A113: A Pixar Resort

This may be a more elegant and fancier name with some deeper meaning behind it. A113 is an inside joke and Easter egg in various Pixar films and other media. The inside joke was created by alumni of the California Institute of the Arts, referring to the classroom used by graphic design and character animation students which included notable names like John Lasseter, Tim Burton, Michael Peraza, and Brad Bird.
It would be extremely unlikely that Disney goes down this route but it would be an interesting nod and name for the hotel. If not they could always use it for a restaurant name or something else.
Luxo Lodge: A Disney-Pixar Resort

This is similar to the Luxo Tower concept. Although Paradise Pier hotel isn’t a lodge type of hotel. I don’t think it would stop Disney from renaming the resort to something like Luxo Lodge.
Pixar Paradise Hotel

Now, this is a name change that could be interesting as it would honor both Pixar and Paradise Pier. What about we just have Pixar Paradise Hotel? The initial concept art makes it seem like you’re going to be staying within a Pixar Paradise so why not just name the hotel that?
Plus the simple integration with Up’s Paradise Falls theme would work as well.
Worlds of Pixar Hotel

The Worlds of Pixar would be an easy name change as the upcoming retheme will likely include characters from across the worlds of Pixar. It’s not as creative as some of the other ones that I’ve listed but it still needs to be put down as a potential possibility. Also, they could just steal the logo that they are going to use in Paris for the upcoming themed land at Walt Disney Studios Park.
In the end, Paradise Pier Hotel was always destined to become a Pixar-themed resort from the moment it was announced that Paradise Pier, the themed land inside Disney California Adventure, was going to be rethemed to Pixar Pier.
I’m just surprised it took them this long to announce the change. But now that it has happened do you have any names that you think would suit the new concept? If you do tweet at us @BoardwalkTimes!
I think the one thing I want most out of this Pixar-themed hotel is for them to just build a new version of Pizza Planet and include a store with a bunch of Pizza Planet merchandise. I think it would be a wonderful idea.
