During Pixar’s 2021 Disney+ Day presentation, Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter walked around the legendary Pixar campus. Towards the end of the quick presentation, Docter ran into Win or Lose series creators Michael Yates and Carrie Hobson.
Win or Lose is Pixar’s first-ever long-form animated series. The new series is coming to Disney+ in Fall 2023 (the series was originally set to arrive in February 2023).
Each episode of Win or Lose follows a different character on a middle school co-ed softball team preparing for their championship game.
I’m personally excited about this series. I think Pixar has great potential at telling long-form series. I think it will be interesting to see how projects like Win or Lose may affect future Pixar films. Will we end up getting fewer films in favor of more series? I guess we will have to wait and see.
Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter announced Cars on The Road with Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy returning to voice their iconic roles, behind-the-scene documentaries about Pixar’s 2022 films Turning Red and Lightyear, and of course Win or Lose.
