PHOTOS: World of Disney Changing Both at Disneyland and Walt Disney World

The most magical Disney store in the world is becoming some modern warehouse?

World of Disney at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort opened after its first phase of refurbishment. The new brand redesign is very industrial and gives a steampunk warehouse vibe.

The previous design was charming and gave off a Disney’s Renaissance era vibe. The new version feels radically different. It matches the cohesive ShopDisney brand they are trying to push. Maybe the World of Disney store veers too close to the Oh My Disney brand with this design.

Now new signage is on display at the Disney Springs counterpart down in Orlando, Florida. Where the infamous Stitch sign sprayed guests for years has been updated.

For comparison here is the older version of the World of Disney sign.

A radical change from the original. The first sign looked very majestic and creative. The new version seems very thrown together. Although only certain aspects have been released of the new World of Disney stores it will be interesting to see what the rest of the refurbishment will look like.

As Disney merged Consumer Products and Parks and Resorts together. The new World of Disney stores are taking on the similar style that has been depicted by ShopDisney and other existing Disney Stores around the world. The new sleek and modern store will fit right in with the digital age. I’m sure the store will be Shop Disney Parks friendly although it already was.
