Pirates of the Caribbean’s classic redhead changed character over this refurbishment. Redhead was once a bride being auctioned off, now she is pirate called Redd. The move has changed the attractions storyline. The move was announced by Disney last summer and was changed within these last few weeks.
The redhead figure was famous for being shouted at with the classic line “We wants the redhead!” The new pirate Redd is now leading a hen auction. Redd also makes a connection to Davy Jones. I don’t want to spoil the whole scene so you can watch it below.
Imagineer Kathy Mangum notes that Walt Disney always wanted the parks to move forward. This decision has garnered various reactions. Even the Boardwalk Times staff chat got heated. Since 1974, many changes have occurred at Pirates of the Caribbean. From this current update of the auction scene to the addition of a Jack Sparrow audio-animatronic. One thing is for sure. This attraction will constantly change.
