Mission: Space Returns in August, Kid Friendly Green Mission is Coming

The evolution of Mission: Space is just beginning.

The updated mission will have clearer video. The Orange mission will be updated. There will be a brand-new Green mission. (Orange is for a more realistic, intense experience while Green is less intense.) The Orange mission will look more visually stunning. The Green mission will give the guests the ability to experience a orbital adventure around planet Earth. The new version of Green will have more gentle motion. Disney is also going to allow a smaller height requirement for the Green mission.

Other changes that are expected is a new pre-show for the Green mission. Probably highlighting the differences in this new mission. There has been no word on if Gary Sinise will come back to do the pre-show. I sure hope he does.

A funny side-note is this is the first refurbishment of Mission: Space that will change something significantly. I expect this attraction to continue to get updated. Especially with technology approaching that we may be able to land on Mars soon. It’s never to early to think about the next mission.

Disney is saying the attraction will reopen in late summer. So we can expect to test out these new missions in August. Boardwalk Times will let you know if this opening date changes.
